I'm hosting a French bistrot inspired housewarming party at my new apartment. I downloaded a bunch of French valse and musette music from iTunes - Edith Piaf's "100 Chansons" was a major bargain. I downloaded black and white photos of Paris and Montmarte from Morguefile which I will print out postcard size to decorate the apartment. I'm going to write the menu (pomme frites for the kids; crepes, French cheese and baguette, green beans almondine, warm chevre salad and lemon tart for the grown ups) on a chalkboard menu. I'll serve Perrier, Evian, Belgian beers and French "vin table." From a local dollar store I found coasters with watercolours of famous French bistrots, floating floral candles, blue and yellow paper plates and napkins and grape shaped ice cube trays. And all will be covered in white linen!
