march madness® party ideas
Gather up all your b-ball fanatic friends -- it's time to head down the Road to the Final Four. Here's all you need to know to host a slam-dunk March Madness® party.
Part of the madness of March madness is the excitement of tracking which teams will make it to the Final Four. Get a large piece of poster board and draw all the brackets starting with the initial 65 teams.

Streamers, balloons and school pendants can help dress up your TV room. Add some foam basketballs and hoops to complete the look.
Support your favorite team, even if they didn't make it to the championship game, by donning their colors.

Or go down the crazy road for some funny flavor on the madness tip and dress like a ref in black-and-white stripes (this works well if all the hosts are refs).
If watching basketball on TV isn't enough party activity for you (check out the complete schedule at ncaasports.com ), consider playing some before and after the televised match-up.

If you have a PlayStation or XBox you don't even have to get sweaty. Load up EA's NCAA March Madness and give your fingers a workout.

And if the game itself isn't enough basketball for you, start early or go late with a basketball-themed DVD:
Coach Carter
Finding Forrester
He Got Game
Basketball Diaries
Hoosiers
Air Bud
Space Jam
Hoop Dreams
White Men Can't Jump
If you want to have a dinner party, don't do it on game day. March Madmen are going to be a lot happier if they can snack on stuff without getting up from the TV. That means you're in shooting range with chips and dips.

A meat and cheese plate (with some mustard on the side) would probably get a good workout, but leave the vegetable plate at the grocery store.

For sweets again go small: cupcakes frosted like basketballs, cookies and brownies will all score big points.

1 shot dark rum
1 shot white rum
1 shot gold/spiced rum
1/2 shot apricot brandy
1/2 shot lime juice
